Successful junior league presentation
Successful junior league presentation
On Friday October 20th, Junior Organiser Pat Clelland organised a successful and enjoyable presentation evening for members of the U14, U17 and U18 teams who had enjoyed success in the 2017 summer season.  The event was hosted by team manager Alan Main who entertained everyone with his witty stories of matches and events during the season.

Certificates were presented to all the team members and winners medals were also presented to the the successful U14 team which won the Fylde league after an excellent season.

2017 was a special season for our juniors with girls playing for the U14 Fylde League team for the first time - and Caitlin Currie and Sophie Parkinson enjoyed great success in their matches - and with the entry of a team in the very high standard U18 regional Aegon league for the first time too.   This meant that a number of less experienced players had a chance to play in the two U17 teams, both in Division 1 following the promotion of the 2nd team after their success in the 2016 season.

The final placing of the teams was -
U18 Aegon league - 4th (50.6%)
U17 Fylde league - 3rd and 6th
U14 Fylde league - Winners and 4th

Junior Peter Nickson was also congratulated for winning the Men's Club's Singles championship for the second time and other members of the U17 and U18 teams who played for the top adult teams were thanked for the major contribution they make to the Club.

Host Alan Main said:
" This has been a successful season for our teams and more importantly also enjoyable.  We are very grateful to all the parents for thei tremendous support for the teams and also to coach Eden Parkinson who has supported the teams throughout the season and who has helped to improve all the players with his excellent coaching and team training sessions.

Thanks especially to our wonderful Junior Organiser Pat Clelland who is an inspiration and to the team managers including Karen Cross and Michaela Parkinson.  We look forward to good times ahead as our junior squad gets stronger and stronger."
